The Rover

Shameless plug:

Aphra Behn’s The Rover was first performed in London in 1677, following the restoration of the English monarchy under Charles II. Behn is noted particularly for being one of the first professional female playwrights in England. The Rover was (and is) one of her most popular plays.

Tonight, The Rover is going up in Downstage at 7:30pm, with performances to follow on Friday and Saturday also at 7:30, and a Saturday matinee at 2pm. The play is set during Carnival, and all are encouraged to join us 15 minutes before each show for a baudy and delicious good time.
